Memories to last a lifetime… From the Past Into the Future…
Jersey City was a wilderness in 1609 when Henry Hudson anchored his small vessel in the Upper Bay near Sandy Hook. Viewing the surrounding country he declared it “as pleasant a land as one need tread upon.” The succeeding 400 years have wrought a great change in the panorama that drew such enthusiastic praise. In the place of green plains stand office towers, ferry slips, handsome residences and the tall spires of churches that crown the hills. A part of the New York metropolitan area, Jersey City is the second largest city in the state and a regional commercial and industrial center. With 11 miles of waterfront and significant rail connections, the city is also an important transportation terminus and distribution center.
Jersey City, one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse cities in the country is enjoying a renaissance. As historic neighborhoods are revitalized throughout the City, commercial development continues apace. Jersey City is home to the New Jersey City University, Saint Peter’s College and the Hudson County Community College all of which are undergoing expansion. McNair Academic High School, the most recently founded public school in Jersey City, has been ranked as the top high school in the state. Professionals throughout the metropolitan area are recognizing the locational, financial and cultural advantages of Jersey City residency.
Conveniently located in the historic Morris Canal neighborhood, Pacific Court, Woodward Terrace and Barbara Place are a short distance from banks, restaurants, shopping centers, convenience stores and pharmacies, Liberty State Park and the Liberty Science Center. There is direct access via the Bergen-Hudson Light rail to Newport Center Mall, Liberty Healthcare Systems Hospital, and Downtown office and Historic Shopping areas. The Light Rail also connects with PATH Trains which take riders into Manhattan in a few short minutes. Local buses also serve the development.
